Everyone makes promises for New Year. Especially with this being that start of a new decade as well. On behalf of the 500 people waiting for an organ to be donated in Wales we are asking that this year you use your resolution to save a life and join the organ donor register.

If you are already on the register then please persuade your friends and family to join. It need only take a few minutes, here are some ways you can help

1, Donate your facebook status to us on new years eve/day and suggest to your friends they do the same. Leave comments on their wall. To join people can go to http://www.facebook.com/l/aa72a;www.donatewales.org

2,  Hot off the press we have posters, flyers and sign up forms that you can take into shops and distribute in your local area. Just let us know how many you want and where to send them.

3, If you are in Cardiff come and help us hit the streets of the capital and persuade others to join face to face.

4, If you've got a personal story about why organ donation matters to you, tell us and we can feature it on the website http://www.facebook.com/l/aa72a;www.donatewales.org Just get in touch with us via this facebook profile. We check it every day.

5, Write to your local newspaper telling them about your pledge, encouraging others and explaining why.

The Donate Wales campaign has seen 60,000 extra people join the organ donor register since it began. But still, just 28% of Welsh people have joined, even though we know 7 in 10 people would like to donate their organs. Someone in Wales dies every 11 days waiting for an organ. So please help us save a life this new year.
